Marlene Wilkerson Nash, age 85 of McDonough passed away December 27, 2017. Born November 25, 1932 in Madison Heights, VA, she was the second child of Edward and Bertha Wood Wilkerson. She graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1950 and had a career as a cashier and vault manager for what is now SunTrust Bank in Lynchburg, VA. Until her move to Georgia, she was a faithful member and choir member of Sandy Bottom Christian Church in Madison Heights, VA. Upon relocating to Jonesboro, GA, Marlene joined the Silvertones from First Baptist Church in Morrow, GA. Marlene was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed gardening, reading, singing, watching sports, crochet, and playing card games with her neighbors in Wrights Walk. Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Wilkerson and Bertha Wood Wilkerson, her husband, Charles Wayland Nash of Jonesboro, and her sister, Barbara Wilkerson Furr of Lynchburg, VA. Surviving are her daughter: Kimbra Nash Stenson and son-in-law, Brent Stenson, of McDonough, GA and grandson, Harrison Lee Stenson, of Athens, GA, special niece and nephew, Lisa Furr Coleman, her husband Al and sons Will and Stuart, and James (Jay) Neal Furr, Jr., both of Lynchburg, VA, very special cousins Shirley Ewers Pendleton of Lynchburg, VA and Robert "Buddy" Ewers of Chesapeake, VA, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann Nash Haskins and Bob Haskins of Dry Fork, VA, and brother-in-law, Michael Nash of Saluda, VA, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Visitation will be held at Sandy Bottom Christian Church, 259 Old Wright Shop Road, Madison Heights, VA 24572, on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Monelison Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
