Mrs. Mary Craddock, age 85 of Jonesboro passed away July 14, 2018. She is survived by her husband: Bill Craddock, Sr., son: Bill Craddock, Jr. and wife Janice of McDonough, daughters: Karen Drescher and husband Kyle of McDonough and Debbie Wallace and husband Ron of Clayton, GA, brother: Wallace Stephens and wife Christine of Stockbridge, sister: Sara Kate Purmort and husband Dee of Forest Park, grandchildren: Craig (Michelle) Craddock, Matt (Amie) Craddock, Diana (Jon) Cowan, Melissa Yates, Aimee (Cason) Hammock, Jonathan (Lindsey) Yates and Casey Pierce, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
Mary was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her best friend, Bill, on July 30, 1950. They would have celebrated 68 years of marriage. Mary raised her 3 children with patience, discipline and humility. From the very beginning she dedicated them to the Lord and taught them to love Jesus and serve him. She also served the Lord by playing the organ at her church beginning with Tanners Baptist Church, to Lake City Baptist, to Pinecrest Baptist for over 25 years. She taught Sunday School, and was always serving the Lord in many capacities at the church. She later joined Jonesboro First Baptist Church in 1990 and continued her service for the Lord where she played the piano for Sunday School.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church Jonesboro with Rev. Irvin Pearre officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at the church.
