Maxine had busy hands! If she wasn't pickling cucumbers or picking scuppernongs, she was shucking corn that she had grown in her garden. If she wasn't quilting or painting furniture, she was cooking her famous turkey nuggets or serving in Woodland Heights Independent Methodist Church. Maxine helped her husband, Bernard, run The Automotive Parts Center, worked as a hairdresser at Vanity Beauty Shop, and ran Mackey's Collectibles at downtown Greenville. At age 92 she moved to The Palms at Lake Spivey to be near her daughter. She lived a fun-filled life of family gatherings at Lake Martin and Orange Beach. She enjoyed her great grandchildren's birthdays, playing cards, puzzles, watercolors, and especially arranging silk flowers. She was a devoted wife and mother that gave the family many wonderful memories. Her ashes, along with the ashes of beloved pet dachshunds, Sophie and Pinot, will be buried beside her husband in Magnolia Cemetery
