Mrs. Rachel P. McGinnis, age 87, of Jonesboro, passed away on April 1, 2015. She was born on February 21, 1928 to the late Henry C. and Cora E. Powell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John William McGinnis and a daughter, Patricia Diane McGinnis. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. She is survived by her children, Hal (Sheryl) McGinnis of Jonesboro, Nancy Jones (John Edwards) of Forest Park; grandchildren, TJ (Melissa) McGinnis, Tyler McGinnis, Amanda McGinnis, Ashley Jones, Jessica Jones, Josh Jones and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday, April 3, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro Chapel. Dr. Charles Q. Carter and Rev. Irvin Pearre will officiate. Interment was at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
