Mrs. Mattie Sue Hood, age 86 of Hampton passed away November 10, 2015. She was retired from General Motors and enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ernest Derrell Hood, brothers: Floyd Gilreath, Artis Gilreath and Charlie Gilreath, and sister: Frances Campbell. Surviving are son: Larry Hood and wife Denise of Hampton, daughter: Tina Gray and husband Bradley of Hampton, grandchildren: Ashley Hood and Ethan Gray and wife Haley, and sister: Mary Brazeal and husband Jerry of Alpharetta. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015, 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Interment will follow at The Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, November 13, 2015, 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
