Michael "Mike" Thaddeus Johnson passed away at 68 on Aug. 20, 2024 surrounded by his
loving family. He attended Woodward Academy, graduated high school in 1974 and later studied
engineering at Georgia Tech. Mike was passionate about science, space, the arts, science fiction
and caring for his dog, Moo Moo. He was a humble man with the biggest heart who selflessly
devoted the last six years of his life to caring for his late parents.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Charles Garden Johnson and Rita Marie Treadwell
Johnson. He is survived by his five siblings: Kathryn Johnson Namour, Barbara Louise Johnson,
Charles Borden Johnson, John Matthew Johnson and Caroline Johnson Estes. He will be dearly
missed by his family, friends, and community.
The funeral Mass will be held Aug. 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in
Jonesboro, Ga
