Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth Fegan Green age 93, of Jonesboro passed away July 21, 2017. She was born July 9, 1924 in Chambersburg, PA to Leo Sylvester Fegan and Mary Catherine Andrews Fegan. She was preceded in death by her husband: Walter Glendon Green, son: Gregory Lee Green, grandson: Micah Glendon Green, great granddaughter: Isabella Bass, parents, 4 siblings and her great grandchildren she never held in her arms. She was a charter member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, founded in 1965, where she received Church Woman of the year in 1991. She was a member of Mother Cabrini Circle and Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She volunteered in the funeral ministry, church mailing, alter care and in any capacity where she would serve the Lord. She was an avid Braves fan who also enjoyed traveling, bowling, bingo, and bunco. Mrs. Green always had a smile and a story to tell. She is survived by her 2 children: Mary Green Morgan of Newnan and Walter Gary Green of Fayetteville; 3 grandchildren: Denise (Scott) Kent, Stephanie "Teppi" (Mark) Green-Bass and Matthew Green; 2 step grandchildren: Amy (Stephen) Crabtree and Stacy Morgan; 4 great grandchildren: Jacob Gregory Green, Alma Kent, Ava Bass and Alisher Kent; 3 step great grandchildren: Alexandria Mullinax, Chloe and Preston Reece. A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church with Fr. John Koziol, OFM Conv. officiating. A private interment will be held after the celebration of her life in the Parish Hall. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the funeral home.
