Mrs. Mildred Whittington Smith, age 89, of Jonesboro, passed away, March 1, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Milton L. Smith, and was co-owner of M.L. Smith Sand and Gravel in Forest Park, GA. Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by her beloved son-in-laws; Ray Ricks and Ray Harden. Mildred was the daughter of Walter and Doula Whittington of Macon County, GA. She is survived by her daughters; Pat Leach Harden of Dublin, Connie Ricks of Hampton, Debbie (Darrell) Gibbs of Jonesboro, grandchildren; Lanette (Rusty) Drennan, Michele (Robbie) Gable, Rhonda (Tom) Chitwood, Michael Leach, Jason (Erin) Ricks, Jennifer (Jeff) May, Ben Gibbs, Brent (Samantha) Gibbs and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held, Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11 AM in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 3-6 PM at the funeral home.
