Mrs. Monetta S. Metzker, age 64, of Jonesboro, passed away, June 14, 2012. Mrs. Metzker worked for the Clayton County School System as a Special Education Specialist, working with teachers, principals and students in the pre-k and elementary school programs. She was a longtime member of Jonesboro First United Methodist Church. She was a loyal and faithful servant of God all her life. She was very active in her church supporting the TNT Action Group, Joy Sunday School Class, a Sunday School teacher for many years, and supported the Bobby Jones Scholarship Fund. She is survived by her husband; Paul F. Metzker, son and daughter in law; Joe and Julia Metzker of Haddock, GA, parents; Ray and Mary Smith of Jacksonville, FL, and brother; Wade Hatton of Flagstaff, AZ. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 11 AM at Jonesboro First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Jonesboro City Cemetery.
