Mr. Murphy Thomas Sammons, Sr. age 68 of McDonough passed away October 31, 2017. Mr. Sammons was a member of Harvest Baptist Tabernacle. He was preceded in death by his son: Jeffrey Turpin. He is survived by his wife: Kathryn Sammons; children: Murphy Thomas Sammons, Jr. and James Sidney Turpin; grandchildren: Sean Sammons, Ansley Turpin and several other grandchildren; cousins: Richard Sammons, Lanier Sammons, Lee Sammons, Nancy, Glenda, and Ruth Wheeler. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, November 4th, 2017 at Harvest Baptist Tabernacle with Dr. Joe Arthur and Rev. Curtis Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM, Friday, November 3rd, 2017 at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home and also from 10-11 AM at the church before the service.
