Nancy Mays Smith, age 77, passed away early in the morning on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Nancy was born in Atlanta, GA on August 12, 1947, to the late Robert and Louise Mays. She had 5 brothers who she loved very much, Leonard (deceased), Jimmy, Charles, John (deceased), and Richard Mays. Nancy was raised in Stockbridge, GA and graduated in the class of 1965 from Henry County High School.She loved to have a good time, she was a great cook, an elite card player, and could put a smile on anyone's face that was around her. Nancy fought hard while waiting for the Lord to call her home and wanted to tell everyone "Don't be sad for me, I've had a great life." She will be missed dearly, by many.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Wedrell Smith (Soperton, GA), two sons Jeff (Mandy) Greenway and Greg (Courtney) Greenway, 3 grandchildren, Braxton and Brayden (Jeff) and Addison (Greg) that she cherished and loved more than anything in the world. Nancy had numerous nieces and nephews. She will be remembered as a loving wife, the best mom, grandmother, sister, aunt (everyone loved Aunt Nancy), and a friend to many.
Nancy wanted to bless everyone with a bible verse from Numbers 6: 24-27:
"May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and may He be gracious unto you. May He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace."

A graveside service for Nancy will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Sherwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 6841 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro, GA 30236. Flowers can be sent to Ford-Stewart Funeral Home, 2047 GA-138, Jonesboro, GA 30236.
