Ret. Col. Oliver J. Collins, Jr., age 65, of Jonesboro, passed away, August 6, 2012. He served 30 years in the U.S. Army. He was a history teacher at Stockbridge High School. He is survived by his wife; Mary, children; Charles O. (Holly) Collins of NC, Michael A. (Pam) Collins of NC, grandchildren; Riley Collins, Ann Collins, Sara Collins, and former wife; Nancy C. Collins of NC. A funeral service will be held, Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 6 PM in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be, December 19, 2012 at 9 AM with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
