Mr. Oliver W. Honea, Sr., 85 of Jonesboro passed away July 27, 2012. A Navy veteran, he was a member of The Rock Baptist Church and had been employed with the U.S. Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Lucille Oliver Honea, brother, William C. Honea, sisters, Anne Lucile Flynn and Peggy Jane Veach. Surviving are wife, Joyce Kelly Honea, children, Margaret Sweatt (Allen), Joy Shannon, Oliver Wendell Honea, Jr., and William Bryan Honea (Jena),7 grandchildren and 5 great-Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 30, 2012, 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Ridgeway officiating. Interment will follow at The Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 29, 2012, 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
