Mrs. Ouida Martin Croker was born on June 7, 1925, in Perry, Florida to Hazel & Jules Martin. She graduated from Florida State University in 1947 with a Bachelors in English Literature. After teaching school in Florida, she moved to Atlanta in 1949. She met her husband on June 22, 1949 (his 25th birthday). Ouida & Marion were married on October 15, 1950. Ouida passed away on January 16, 2017. A memorial service will be held for her at 1 PM, Wednesday, February 1, 2016 in the Chapel of Ford Stewart Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Ouida was preceded in death by her husband: Marion W. Croker; and her son: Clay Martin Croker. She is survived by daughter: Julie Thornton (Mike) of Jonesboro; grandson: Justin Weaver (Erika) of Acworth; 5 great grandchildren: Kallie, Karson, Korie, Kendal, and Kaden Weaver. Ouida will be remembered for her great sense of humor, quick wit and the ability to tell a joke like no one else. She was very outgoing & truly never met a stranger. To know her was to love her. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
