Peggy Hall Cox, born on June 11, 1937, in Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026 at her home in Senoia, Ga. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and treasured friend to many. Her life was well-lived and was defined by love, faith, service, and devotion to her family. A long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, Ga. She lived each day with grace, kindness, and a commitment to giving to others.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 47 years, Charles Elbert Cox, and then her 18-year Life Partner, Byron "Butch" Hand, her father, William Heyward Hall, her mother, Jewel Mann Hall, her brother, William Heyward Hall, Jr., and great-grandson, Woodson "Woody" Howell. Peggy leaves behind a loving family: her daughter, Kathy Cox Hughes (Steve); her sons, Deric Lee Cox (Selisa Tant), Keith Hall Cox; her grandchildren, Molly Hughes Pharr (Justin), Callie Hughes Howell (Tate); and her precious great-grandchildren, Brayden Pharr, Boone Pharr, and Stevie Howell. She is also survived by her brother, James Mann "Jimmy" Hall.
"Ms. Peggy" as many affectionately called her, was employed by and retired after 40 + years with the Clayton County School system.
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 10:00 AM till 11:30 AM at Ford Stewart Funeral Home.
