Phillis Lavon Browder Hinton, April 23, 1939-May 22, 2025
Phillis Lavon Browder Hinton, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed from this life on May 21st, 2025, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
She was born in Andalusia, Alabama in 1939 to Willie Alfred Browder and Myrtice Inez Gilmer Browder. The family moved to Mobile, Alabama prior to WWII. Phillis graduated from Vigor Highschool. She worked at Bell Telephone Company as an operator before her marriage.
Phillis married the love of her life, Guy Dale Hinton, on August 15th, 1964. She was a devoted mother to Daniel and Stephen Hinton. Her life centered on her family, and she found great joy in the times they spent together. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wille and Myrtice Browder of Andalusia, Alabama; her sister, Alice Elaine Johnson of De Funiak Springs, Florida; and her cousin, William Gray Price.
Phillis leaves behind a large and loving family.
Sons:Daniel Guy Hinton, wife Janie Hinton, and their children Jared Ashbaugh, Caleb Ashbaugh, Garrett Hinton, Kolt Hinton, Kennedy Hinton
Stephen Alfred Hinton & wife, Christina Elizabeth Adamson, and their children Alexis Daniel Hinton, daughter, February Elexis Thomas, granddaughter -Anastasia Nicole Thomas.
Cynthia Inez Maddox, niece Phillis helped raise.
Cousins: Philip Wayne Gilmer, Billie Baria, Peggy Manning, and Linda Garron.

Jared Ashbaugh, Caleb Ashbaugh, Garrett Hinton, Kolt Hinton, Kennedy Hinton, Kyle Rowan
Oak Park Church will host a family luncheon at the church from 11:30 am -1:00 pm EST. Friends and family are welcome to a viewing at the church between 1:00- 2:00 pm. EST.
We will hold a Celebration of Life for Phillis on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025 from 2 to 3 pm EST at Oak Park Church (2613 SR-138W, Jonesboro, GA 30236).
Entombment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum,
