Obituary

Priscilla Cabrera Mallari, born July 8, 1945, passed away on December 12, 2025. To her family and friends, Priscilla was a bright, comforting presence—friendly, engaging, and endlessly warm. She had a gift for conversation, always ready with a story or a laugh that made people feel at ease without ever seeming frivolous. Priscilla's hospitality was legendary. Her home was a haven where everyone felt welcome—whether stopping by for a meal or staying for a week. She opened her doors and her heart generously, creating a space where guests felt like family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Raymundo Mallari, and her three daughters, whom she raised with unwavering care and love: Pamela (Alexander Costa), Patricia (Joseph Edell), and Pilita (Jared Hudson). Her greatest joy came from nurturing her family, and she poured herself into that role with a fierce and tender pride. A nurse by training, Priscilla's true talent was in the kitchen, and she expressed her affection through food—joyfully cooking and feeding the wonderfully delicious meals she became known for to anyone who graced her door. Her kitchen was always alive with aromas, laughter, and the rhythm of a woman who cooked out of love. Nothing brought her more happiness than watching people enjoy the dishes she made just for them. Priscilla treasured time with her grandchildren, playing with them, spoiling them, and creating memories that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. She also found joy and camaraderie in playing mahjong with her barkada—hours filled with friendly competition, conversation, and the simple pleasure of being together. Her warmth, her generosity, and her ability to bring people together were the hallmarks of her life. She listened fully, cared deeply, and gave freely—never asking for anything in return. We long for her presence each day; her absence is felt in every corner of our lives. The values she embodied live on in her children and grandchildren, and in the countless lives she touched with her kindness. Priscilla will be remembered with love, gratitude, and an enduring sense of comfort—because those who knew her will forever feel the echo of her warmth, her laughter, and her devotion to her family. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Jonesboro. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 prior to the service at the church. A private burial service will be held for family only immediately following mass. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in Priscilla's name at donorservices.alz.org or call 1-800-272-3900.
