Ralph "Theo" Watkins, born on February 19, 1941, in Starkville, MS, passed away on March 12, 2024. Theo was known for being a devoted husband, father, and poppy. In the 60s, he made the move from Mississippi to Atlanta where he honed his skills in residential home building. Establishing his own company, Creekview Enterprises, Inc., he contributed to the construction of numerous homes in Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton, and Walton counties.
He was a devoted Christian and led the choir at Avondale Church of God and Hairston Road Church of God for many years where his leadership and contributions touched many lives.
Theo's love for travel and enjoyment of high-quality sound systems and thick milkshakes defined his vibrant personality. His presence brought joy to those around him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Jo Burroughs Watkins. Among those left to cherish his memory are his brother Irvin Watkins and sister Irene Green. Theo's legacy lives on through his sons Shane Watkins and Dustin Watkins, as well as his grandchildren Madison Buckman, Parker Watkins, Hayden Watkins, Dallas Watkins, Emma Story, and Taylor Story. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Atlas Buckman.
Family and friends are invited to honor Theo's life at the visitation service on March 14, 2024 at Monroe Church of God in Monroe, GA from 1-2PM. A funeral service will follow at the same location at 2:00PM. Finally, he will be laid to rest at Pate Cemetery in Buhl, AL on March 19, 2024 at 11:00AM CST.
Ralph "Theo" Watkins will always be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and the lasting impact he had on those who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
