Ret. MSGT Donald E. Thurmon age 87 of Jonesboro passed away Friday, February 19, 2016. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and a member of First Christian Church of Jonesboro. He is preceded in death by wife: Doris Jean Thurmon. He is survived by children: Donna Jean Morris (Al) of Fayetteville, Diana Victoria Purcell (Ray) of Thomaston, Dorinda Elaine Smith of Greenville, SC, and Daniel Leslie Thurmon of Zebulon; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday February 24, 2016 at First Christian Church of Jonesboro with Pastor Wade Hall officiating. Burial will follow at 1 PM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday February 23, 2016 at the funeral home and from 9-10 AM Wednesday February 24, 2016 at the church before the service.
