Mr. Richard John DeLong, age 89 of Jonesboro passed away August 14, 2023. Mr. DeLong was retired from the U. S. Army and was a member of the 82nd Airborne. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ward A. and Frances DeLong, his wife: Gerda M. DeLong, and his three siblings. He is survived by his children: Sandra Marie DeLong of AL., Marianna (Jim) Alger of KY., Randy (Tammera) DeLong of McDonough, David DeLong of AL., and Michael DeLong of N.C., grandchildren: Chadd DeLong, Nicole (Bobby) Caldwell, Michael Pemberton, Danielle Allen and Richard Pemberton, numerous great-grandchildren, and a multitude of friends and family members in Germany. The family will receive friend 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the funeral home.
