In Loving Memory of Roger Joseph Pierce
With deep respect and heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Roger Joseph Pierce, age 77, of Alpharetta, formerly of Rex, GA, who passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024. Born in Springfield, IL, to the late William and Mary Pierce, Roger lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love.

Roger proudly served his country in the United States Navy, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment. After his military service, he continued to serve others through his work as an engine mechanic for Northwest Airlines, where he was known for his expertise and unwavering work ethic.

He was married to the late Ann E. Pierce, his beloved wife, who passed in 2014. Roger was a man of faith, adhering to the principles of the Methodist church, which guided his actions throughout his life.

Roger's love for NASCAR and other races was well known, but his true passion lay in his family. A talented tinkerer, he spent countless hours crafting toys for his grandchildren, including a cherished wagon and numerous toy cars, leaving behind memories that will be treasured for generations.

Roger is survived by his daughter Sharon Carnegie and son Eric Michael Pierce; his sister Lila Orn; his grandchildren Nathan Pierce Carnegie, Libby Caroline Carnegie, and Jordyn Rose Pierce; and his niece Cynthia Roda. His legacy of love and kindness will live on in each of them.

A graveside service to honor Roger's life will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM in Fairview Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Curt Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at Ford Stewart Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

In our grief, we also celebrate the life of a man who gave so much to his family, his community, and his country. May Roger Joseph Pierce's memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
