Mr. Ross Palmer, Sr. age 90 of Jonesboro passed away July 24, 2016. Mr. Palmer served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church Jonesboro where he served as chairman of the deacons. He was also retired from Georgia Power. He is survived by wife: Dorothy "Dot" Palmer; children: Linda Kovaleski (David) of Fayetteville, Rhonda Cathy (Dan) of Fayetteville, Pam Mayo (Scott) of Newnan, and Jep Ross Palmer (Dixie) of Jonesboro; brother: Glenn Palmer (Sharon) of Stockbridge; sisters: Carolyn Bailey of Anderson, SC, and Jane Oakes of Gainesville, GA; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at First Baptist Church Jonesboro Chapel with Rev. Irvin Pearre officiating. Burial to follow at Jonesboro City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the funeral home and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
