Mrs. Ruth Burks Thompson was a wonderful woman that will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew her. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and aunt who passed from this life on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the age of 88. Ruth was born on August 29, 1926 in Normandy, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vassie Marr Burks, Samuel Emmett Burks; siblings, Pauline, Frances, Mildred, Charles; son-in-law, Sam and a nephew, William. She leaves behind cherished memories for her children, Charlsie Jordan of LaGrange, Dianna (Paul) Denault of Stockbridge, Patti Jo (Pete) Mcfarlane of Stockbridge, Nancy (Kary) Kinman of Stockbridge, Fred (Bobbi) Thompson of McDonough; siblings, Hazel Gallegher-Brannon of TN, Grace (Bill) Reynolds of AL; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 20, 2015 in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Pastor Don Gallegher will officiate. Interment will be at Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
