"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds,-and done a hundred things ...
I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God." (J.G. Magee)
Mrs. Ruth White, 87, cherished and beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, and faithful friend, said a quiet, peaceful, dignified farewell to this earthly life and went home to her Heavenly Glory, on the 2nd day of September, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Forest Park, Georgia, with her beloved son Terry faithfully by her side throughout her entire final ordeal.
Ruth Beatrice Rumble was born on February 11th, 1939 in San Diego, CA, and raised by Beatrice Myers Rumble, her single mother. She had one older sibling, a brother, Maurice, who doted on her.
Ruth graduated from Hoover High School in June, 1956, and entered BYU for two years (before marriage), eventually earning a B.Sc. in Psychology in 2019, at the age of Eighty (see afterward). She began her career as a Secretary and Filing Clerk for the U.S. Forest Service in San Diego, eventually transitioning to being a Salesclerk for Macy's Department Stores for several years, as well as a Secretary in the Pilot's Offices for Delta Air Lines for a few years.
Ruth married her lifelong sweetheart, James Francis (Frank) White on April 25, 1962, in Los Angeles, California, USA. The couple eventually had seven children, and three precious grandchildren.
Ruth loved to travel and see new destinations and countries, and visited Canada, Mexico, and numerous European countries and cities on several occasions.
Ruth notably achieved a lifetime milestone by graduating with her B.Sc. Psychology from Clayton State University in 2019. This achievement was featured on a local news channel, and is still on YouTube to this day:

Ruth was adored and beloved by all who knew her, and was the closest thing to being a living 'Saint' that this writer has even known. Her patience, love, compassion, understanding, and forgiveness literally knew no bounds, and to say that they were exemplary falls far short of the mark. It was the privilege of a lifetime to have a mother of such a high and rare quality. Ruth; along with her late husband Frank, was a true and faithful lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Ruth was predeceased by her mother and brother (Maurice Rumble), as well as her beloved husband Frank. Survivors include children, Terrence "Terry" White, of Forest Park, GA, Derek (Kon) White, of Forest Park, GA, Alan White, of Walton County, GA, Arlen (Michelle) White, of Humble, TX, Nathaniel (Nate) White, of Buford, GA, and Karmelle White, of Sandy Springs, GA, and grandchildren, Alexander (Alex) White, and Samantha White.
The service for Mrs. Ruth White will be held on Friday, the 18th of September, 2026, at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Jonesboro Ward chapel. Burial will follow the service at 3:00 PM at Honey Creek Woodlands, Conyers. GA.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, the 17th of September, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Ford Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Jonesboro, GA.
Memorial donations can be made in Ruth's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
