Rev. Samuel Lee Latta, age 82 of Stockbridge, passed away July 1, 2019. Sam attended Hampton Heights Fellowship. He spent his life serving as a missionary and pastor, building churches all over the world. He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas & Lorene Latta; sister: Beverly Ford; beloved wife of 61 years: Joyce Latta and grandson: Tyler Blake Latta. He is survived by his wife: Shirley Hicks Welch Latta; his children: Alan Latta (Yvette) of Granbury, TX, Gayla Holley (Greg) of Spring, TX, Marvin Latta (Lisa) of Rex and Regan Latta (Kerri) of Willis, TX; 4 step-children; his sisters: Hilda Trapani of OH and Della Huff of IL; 8 grandchildren and 11 step-grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren; and spiritual children all over the world. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, July 9th, 2019 at Oak Park Church in Jonesboro. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in McDonough. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Monday, July 8th, 2019 at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
