Mrs. Sara Jones, age 95, of Griffin passed away August 10, 2014. Mrs. Jones was a nurses assistant for 12 years at Southern Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Euwell Lee Jones, Sr., parents, Cleon Augustus Smith and Georgia Mae Pollard Smith, brothers and sisters, Ruby Stevens, Mary Hickman, Ora Lee Howard, June Humphrey and Thomas Smith, Sr. Surviving are her children, Doris Eugenia Whaley, Euwell Lee Jones, Jr., and wife Sandra, Lawrence G. Jones and wife Dianne, and Janice J. Slay and husband, Randy, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014, 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Wade Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 13, 2014, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
