Mr. Shirley F. Allender, Jr., age 87, of Jonesboro, passed away April 2, 2014.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Louise Allender and a grandson, Mathew Redmon.  He is survived by his sons, John (Peggy) Allender of Wilmore, KY, Steve Allen (Carol) Redmon of Jonesboro, Darrel Wayne Allender of Jonesboro, Shirley Francis (Leisa) Allender of Fayetteville, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home.   Evangelist Dave Rogers will officiate.  Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
