Shirley McCurry, 87, from Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024. Shirley graduated from Milton High School. She played basketball and was named
female athlete of the year. She also was part of the drama club. Shirley was a true American pioneer woman. She loved gardening, all sports, and cooking. She was a
wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was a cherished member of First Baptist Church Jonesboro and dedicated her career to serving as a dispatcher for Southern Bell until retirement. She is preceded
in death by her beloved husband; Harvey Jediah McCurry, her parents; Carl & Irene Jenkins, and her grandson; Adam McCurry.

Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love and memories, survived by her sons: Robert (Sonya) McCurry of Jackson & Phillip (Donna) McCurry of Newnan. She is also
survived by her dear in-laws ; Grady Ray (Beverly) McCurry of Morrow & Carolyn (Bill) Roberts of Oklahoma, along with her cherished grandchildren; Amber (Chad)
McCranie, Chelsey McCurry, Lyndsay (Anthony) Echols, and James (Jenna) Vaughn, and her adored great grandchildren; CJ, Kelsey, Kaylee, Allie, Justin, Bradley,
Makayla, Hayden, Logan, Lyla, Lane, Luke, Logan and Addie Raye. Also Shirley's dedicated caretaker; Lucy Jackson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended
family members, also mourn her passing

A visitation to honor Shirley's life will be held on June 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home ; 2047 Highway 138 SE Jonesboro, GA 30237
A funeral service will take place on June 6th at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Jonesboro. She will be placed in state at 1 :00 p.m., prior to the service.
Shirley will be laid to rest at Sherwood Memorial Park, 6841 Tara Blvd Jonesboro, GA 30236
