Mr. Stephen Alex Cohilas age 85 of Morrow, passed away April 29, 2017. Mr. Cohilas was born on February 5, 1932 in Samos, Samos Greece. He was a Mason, Shriner and served as a Merchant Marine during the Korean War. He immigrated to America in 1946, where he learned the carpentry trade. He later worked on many high rise buildings in both New York City and Atlanta, Georgia. He was a successful custom home builder for many years in the Atlanta area. He is survived by children: Alex Cohilas of Morrow, Maria Cohilas Ross (Jim) of King George, VA; grandchildren: Christopher Stephen Cohilas (Karen) of Albany, GA, Andrew Lee Cohilas of McLean, VA, Anastasia Eliza Ross, and Fallon Aleksandra Ross both of King George, VA; great grandchildren: Christopher Stephen Cohilas, Jr., Nicholas Alexander Cohilas, Michael Anthony Cohilas, and Isabella Maria Cohilas. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, May 6th , 2017 in the Chapel of Ford Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Little officiating. Burial to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in McDonough. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM, before the service.
