Thelma "Jean" Whittington, age 75 of Jonesboro passed away May 27, 2022. Mrs. Whittington was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and taught Sunday school for many years and was a volunteer with the rock. She was retired from JC Penny with over 40 years of service.  She was preceded in death by her sisters: Jackie Williams, Marylou Hamby and Liz Chester.  She is survived by her sisters: Sheila A. (Rex) Damme and Judy (Jimmy) Denton; and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, June 4th, 2022 in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Rev Allen Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Friday, June 3, 2022 at the funeral home.
