Mr. Thomas (Tom) Gordon Harper, age 72, of Jonesboro, passed away, Sunday, January 20, 2013. He was born on September 21, 1940 in Carroll County, GA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents; Gordon and Eunice Harper of Douglasville, stepson; Ethan Hawke of Covington and grandson; Scott Price. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Louise, stepdaughters; Liz (Dan) Garrison of Senoia, Betty McElwaney of Riverdale, Jo Ann (David) Hanson of Stockbridge and Esther (Steve) Burdette of Monticello, grandchildren; Bonnie Miller, Blake Smith, Angie McElwaney, Kim Myers, Brian Stephens, Chris Garrard, Lindsay Brooke Edwards and Shane Hanson, 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, uncle and cousins. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2 PM in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
