Obituary

Thomas Embert Taylor, aged 79, passed away on October 27, 2024, in Hephzibah, Georgia. Born on June 19, 1945, Thomas was known for his kind, Christ-like demeanor, a sense of humor that warmed any room, and a personality that made him a cherished friend to many.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Cook Taylor, and their five children: Thomas Embert Taylor Jr. (Lisa), Daniel Guy Taylor (Lori), Adam Troy Taylor (Suzanne), Heather Taylor Hoffman (Martin), and Alaina Taylor Mixon (Michael). He was a proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Wallace Taylor, Kathy Ryder, and Lowell Taylor.

Throughout his life, Thomas was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he embraced his community and faith with open arms. His hobbies included a deep love for music, watching old westerns and James bond movies, dancing (especially with his beloved wife Patricia), and spending quality time with family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Georgia, on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 6-8 pm. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, November 1, 2024, at 11:00 am, with interment to follow immediately at the Godbee-Godby Family Cemetery in College Park, Georgia.

Thomas's life was a testament to the joy and love he shared with everyone around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
