Timothy O'Grady McBrayer, age 59, of Locust Grove, entered into eternal rest and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 22, 2026. A faithful servant of God, Tim lived a life marked by love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family and all who knew him. Born on September 2, 1966, in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Benjamin O'Grady McBrayer and Gloria Justice McBrayer. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Randall and Jamie Peloquin. He is survived by his siblings, Joey Seward, Susan Messer, and Tina Holt, all of Griffin, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Tim was a devoted and loving husband to his beloved wife of 37 years, Rachel, and a proud and caring father to his children: Hanna Marie McBrayer (Danny) Messano of Augusta, Angel Ivanna McBrayer, Cody Chase McBrayer, and Blair Ashlyn McBrayer, all of Locust Grove. His family was his greatest joy, and he led them with love, strength, and a Christ-like spirit. For nearly 38 years, Tim faithfully served in his career at Delta, where he was affectionately known as "Happy Jack." He brought light and laughter wherever he went, never meeting a stranger and always willing to lend a helping hand. His generous heart was evident to all—he would truly give you the shirt off his back. A man of deep faith, Tim loved the Lord and lived his life as a reflection of God's grace. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, humility, and unwavering love that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Tim was known and loved by many, and his presence brought joy to countless lives. Though he will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. In loving memory of Tim's faith and the hope he carried, we invite all who read this to consider the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in His Son. Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
In honor of Tim's faith and the hope he held in Christ, we share this invitation: the Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Salvation is not earned, but freely given to all who place their trust in Jesus Christ. If you have never trusted Him as your Savior, you can do so even now with a sincere heart:
"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and ask You to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I trust in You alone for my salvation. Thank You for saving me. Amen." May all who knew Tim be comforted in this truth and encouraged to place their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2026, in the Chapel of Ford Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville. Flowers accepted or contributions may be made to the family.
