Verna Carter Simpson was born February 4, 1929 in Sycamore, Ga. She left her loving family May 6, 2015 at the age of 86. Predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Carlton Bill Simpson. A longtime resident of Morrow, GA Verna is survived by her younger sister, Mable Balkcom of Jacksonville, FL. She had two children, oldest son, Larry Simpson and daughter-in-law, Janie Simpson of Morrow, along with her daughter, Deborah LaBarbara and son-in-law, Richard LaBarbara of Johns Creek, GA. Her seven grandchildren brought her great joy over the years. Granddaughters, Ashley Simpson, Kristie Simpson, Nicole LaBarbara, Jennifer Possin, Laura Simpson, and Tracie LaBarbara, and her only grandson Joseph LaBarbara. Verna was blessed to also have four great-granddaughters, Madison Bachelor, Emmaleigh Bachelor, Avery Possin and Carter Stromie. Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday, May 9, 2015, 1:15 pm until 2:30 pm at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. A Graveside service will follow at 2:45 pm at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park.
