1SGT U.S. Army Retired, Vernon E. Butler, age 83, of Morrow, passed away, November 13, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Butler. He is survived by his children, Ann (Eddie) Johnson of Brooks, Debbie Butler of Morrow, Joan (Chris) Lowstuter of Loganville, Lori (Joe) Pierce of Covington, Vernon J. (Dena) Butler of Stockbridge, Edward T. (Donna) Butler of Covington, Theresa H. Moran of Covington; brothers, Richard (Jan) Butler of MN, Thomas (Chris) Butler of FL; sisters, Phyllis Kress of CA, Virginia (Dale) Durden of MN; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, November 17, 2013 in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Interment will be at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery in Carrollton, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
