Mrs. Virginia Lee Watson, age 78, of Jonesboro, passed away, April 6, 2012 at Southern Crescent Hospital, a special care facility. She suffered from C.O.P.D. for several years prior to her death. Virginia was born August 24, 1933 to the parents of Henry Grady Watson and Nancy Gladys Lee Watson, who predeceased her. She was a resident of Jonesboro, Georgia for 50 plus years. She attended Jonesboro First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, and sang in the choir. She was retired from Georgia State Department of Labor with 18 years of service. Virginia loved to sew and made many of her outfits, until her health prevented her from doing so. When she felt up to it, she liked to play games on the computer. She is survived by her brother and his wife, Henry and Barbara Watson, sister; Nancy W. Cranford, all of Jonesboro, niece; Laura Neely, and her husband Norman and their son Nathan all of Fayetteville, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 2012 at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church Jonesboro Chapel. Rev. Irvin Pearre and Dr. Mel Blackaby officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 9, 2012 one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Jonesboro City Cemetery.
