Warren Salone Shore, age 91, of Stockbridge, GA, passed away on January 23, 2026. He was born on August 4, 1934 in Cornelia, GA. Warren proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean era in the late 1950's. After his military service, he built a long and dedicated career in public service and utilities. Employed by Atlanta Gas Light Company, he worked his way up to a supervisor position. For a short time afterwards, he worked as a security guard at Crawford Long Hospital and later retired from the City of Atlanta where he worked at the Municipal Court and City Court of Atlanta.
Warren was deeply involved in the Masonic and Shriner communities. He received his 50-year service award for both. He was a past Master of Rex Masonic Lodge No. 251. He also served as Past President of the Yaarab Motor Corps, Aide and a Roadrunner, transporting children to the Shrine hospital for doctors' visits. One of his greatest joys was building birdhouses for the Shrine Hospital and delivering them to the children—over 900, many left unpainted, so the children could decorate them themselves. In addition, Warren was an entrepreneur and hard worker. He owned and operated Warren's Water, installing water lines and sprinkler systems, and also operated a dump truck, hauling dirt for a local home builder.
In his free time, he enjoyed restoring antique vehicles and showing them off at car shows. Later, one of his favorite traditions was giving away tomatoes from the farmer's market-always saying that he had grown them himself. Warren will be remembered as a devoted family man, loving husband and father, a proud veteran, and a man who never hesitated to lend a hand. Whether serving his country, helping children through the Shriners, or working hard to provide for his family, he lived a life defined by service, integrity, and kindness. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; Lake Howard Shore and Josephine Pearl Skelton Shore and a brother; Jerome C. Shore. He is survived by his wife; Yvonne and his daughter and son-in-law; Karen Shore (Brian) Chambers of Stockbridge. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in the Chapel of Ford Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive from 1-2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
