Mr. William Alton Williamson, age 89, of Rex, GA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 29, 2016 in Whiteville, NC. He was son of the late Thomas Alton and Nellie Dean Griffin Williamson and the husband of the late Doris Lorene Davis Williamson. He leaves to cherish his memory, three children, David Alton Williamson (Cindy) of McDonough, Michael Gilbert Williamson of Rex, and Robin W. Fort (Eddie) of Whiteville, NC; grandchild, Melinda Lorene Williamson; siblings, Thelma Williamson of McDonough, Pearl Sanders of Rex, Ruth Wilkerson of McDonough, Leila Allen of Monroe, Ruby Born (Harmon) of Rex and Joe Williamson of Lexington, KY. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 2, 2016 at The Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
